A three-month-old baby girl is reported to have died after being attacked by a dog in her bedroom while she was sleeping.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday, June 7, in the village of Clashmore, Waterford, Ireland.
The dog was said to have inflicted severe injuries on the baby.
The emergency services were called, and paramedics and police officers rushed to the scene.
The infant was airlifted to Cork University Hospital as Astounded paramedics fought to save the child, but she died shortly after 3 a.m. in the hospital.
The baby’s mother is said to be distraught, despite the fact that family members have gathered to support her.

“The child was transported to Cork University Hospital, where a postmortem examination is scheduled for today.
Gardai from the Garda Forensic Unit have sealed off the house where the incident occurred for a forensic examination.
