Danish Club FC Midtylland is a professional football team with bases in Herning and Ikast in Jutland’s central region. The club is the outcome of the union of Herning Fremad and Ikast FS.
Mark Ugboh, a Nigerian goalkeeper, has been promoted to the main team of Danish Club FC Midtylland.
From the neighborhood club FC Ebedei, Ugboh, 18, joined FC Midtylland in January.
The shot-stopper began his career with the club’s U-19 team, where he played in seven games and recorded five shutouts.
The young player was promoted permanently to the first team roster three weeks after agreeing to a five-year contract extension.
As of right now, Ugboh is FC Midtylland’s first African goalie.
Following in the footsteps of Sylvester Igboun, Paul Onuachu, Frank Onyeka, and Raphael Onyedika, the young goaltender is now the sixth Nigerian to make it to the Wolves first squad.
“I get a lot out of training with the first team. When I got here I didn’t think it would go so fast and I’m happy with the progress I’ve made so far,” he told the club’s official website.
“The goalkeepers I train with have great qualities. I look at what they do and I try to copy them. If there is something I can’t do, I try to learn from them in the pursuit of becoming even better.”
