Qatar 2023: Diego Schwarzstein, Lionel Messi’s Doctor, has disclosed his not-so-good wish for Argentina in the 2022 world cup competition, as he said that he would prefer Argentina lose all their group stage fixtures in Qatar and exit the tournament in early before it becomes more difficult for them.
Argentina will be out of the Qatar world cup competition if they lose all three of their games in the initial stages, called the group stage.
Not minding the fact that the 35-year-old Argentine captain, Lionel Messi is pushing for his first FIFA World Cup trophy, Schwarzstein does not want the Argentine star to succeed in Qatar, notwithstanding that they have a friendly relationship.
He said that if they succeed in the World Cup; it would be taken advantage of by the Argentine administration to cover up for all its failure.
“Argentina winning the tournament would make me happy as a football fan. I would prefer them to lose all three games and be eliminated in the first round as an Argentine and as a person,” he told The Times.
“Why, I’m convinced that this obscenely populist government that we have here would use the success of Argentina at the World Cup to cover things up,” he said.
