Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi, says he will clear the city of illegal structures.
The chairman stated this while monitoring the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Warri on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
As a result, he gave all occupants of the shanties under the flyover bridge connecting Ugbuwangue and Ogunu a seven-day notice to vacate.
All traders operating in unlicensed locations in the district, including those at Igbudu Market, were also issued a quit notice by the chairman.
“My administration is committed to removing illegal structures from Warri and beautifying the city to attract investors,” he stated.
Tidi said he will develop a suitable Motor Park while also improving traffic flow in the city.
He stated that the council will work with the state government agencies and community leaders to achieve and maintain the revitalized urban renewal/beautification drive in the State.
