Uniosun Teaching Hospital: The management of Osun State University Hospital says it will provide free surgery for 500 persons as part of its social responsibility.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Ayodele Adeyemo, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital on Monday in Osogbo.
Adeyemo said that some of the surgeries to be performed in the patients included: hernia, ganglion, lumps, cataract, pterygium, in-growing toenails and implant IUCD insertion, among others.
Adeyemo said that the two days surgical outreach would take place between Dec. 9 and Dec. 10 at the hospital premises.
He said, “As part of the social responsibility of the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Osogbo, the management has concluded plans to commence a two-day free surgical outreach for all interested persons to hold between Thursday, Dec. 9 and Friday, Dec. 10, within the hospital’s premises.
“According to the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital who is also coordinating the Outreach, Dr Babatunde Afolabi, about 500 prospective beneficiaries have been planned to enjoy the medical largesse.
”Some of the cases listed for the program include hernia, ganglion, lumps, cataract, pterygium, in-growing toe-nails and implant IUCD insertion. Etc.
” In order to have a smooth arrangement, members of the public who are interested are advised to report at the General Outpatient Department (GOPD) Clinic, UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo between Monday, Nov. 22 to Friday, Nov. 26 for some important pre-surgery preliminaries.”
