Two TASUED students: A female student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Ijagun in Ogun State and her male colleague were killed on Sunday, August 1, after they accidentally took a substance suspected to be sniper at a private hostel in Ijagun town.
According to The Nation, the lady, a 200-level student in TASUED’s Library and Information Science department, had gone to the male student’s room. Her friends became concerned when she did not return to her room and decided to check on her at the male hostel. It was discovered when the worried roommate arrived at the male hostel and entered the room.
They were taken to the University’s health centre, where the on-duty doctor confirmed the female student’s death upon arrival. The lady’s body was taken to a state-owned hospital in Ijebu – Ode, while the unconscious male student was taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu.
According to reports, the male student’s parents took him to the emergency ward of the Babcock University Teaching Hospital in Ilisan, Ogun State. According to an unofficial source, the boy died early Monday morning.
