The Musician ‘Teni has been insulted for “disrespecting” President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Abba Yusuf Bichi, the son of Yusuf Bichi, Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
He chastised Teni for behaving “arrogantly” while receiving a national honor from the President.
‘Teni, a singer, was one of the 6 performers out of 443 Nigerians to get national honors on Tuesday.
Buhari conferred the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) title on the “Case” singer.
The former Golden Eaglets player criticized the singer for not bowing her head in respect to the President during the occasion, as other notable honorees did, while posting a picture of Teni on his Instagram page.
Teni was labeled by him as a “orobo with zero sense” who chose to act haughtily in spite of belonging to a tribe that is best known “for their respect for elders.”
The footballer wrote: “Orobo with zero sense even her excellency okonjo bowed down her head as a sign of respect to the president and commander in chief of the armed forces likewise other high-ranking government officials.
“Who are you not to respect the President? This is disgusting and disturbing. Yoruba people are best known for their respect for elders but it got to your turn and you decided to be arrogant.”
