Sonia, the daughter of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, deserves free kidney donations from Nigerians, according to Ossai Success, a deputy to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Success said that because Ekweremadu had an impact on the nation’s development, people shouldn’t be hesitant to volunteer to donate a kidney to Sonia.
After learning that she had a rare kidney condition, Sonia had pleaded with members of the public on Monday to donate a kidney to her.
The 25-year-old woman, whose parents are currently accused of organ harvesting in the United Kingdom, said that she had to leave the university because of her illness.
She contended that because her condition was genetic, none of her family members could contribute to her, and that England law prohibited payment for donations.
“Ekweremadu’s daughter deserves free kidney donations, Prayers from Nigerians for her father’s role in shaping Nigeria. If you can’t give her your kidney, then pray for her instead of laughing at her family”, Punch quotes what Ossai stated.
