The R&B singer John Legend has revealed he was selfish and not a great partner to his wife Chrissy Teigen at the early stage of their relationship.
When asked about their relationship, the Grammy winner, 46, revealed that being in a monogamous relationship wasn’t on his mind when they first met in 2006 when she was chosen to be his love interest in his music video for Stereo.
‘I think I was more selfish then,’ he explained. ‘I wasn’t a great partner at the beginning of our relationship.’
‘Even though I was very into her and very excited to be with her. I was still selfish. I was in my mid-20s, still not ready to fully be the committed partner that I am now.’
In addition, the Oscar Award winner said that when they “first met,” “they were very drawn to each other” and had excellent “chemistry.”
“that level of attraction is more akin to infatuation in the start of a relationship.” And love that can endure the test of time must be more profound and genuine than that. Together, we have experienced enough to have genuinely strengthened and fortified one another.
Following the births of their son Miles Theodore, 4, and daughter Luna, 6, Singer John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are currently expecting their third child.
