Senate confirms another INEC: The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Professor Sani Mohamed Adam (Northern Centre) as the National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Though the confirmation of Prof Adam’s appointment had earlier been stepped down on grounds of not being cleared from petitions surrounding his nomination, he was given a go-ahead on Thursday, July 14 after report of the Committee on INEC was considered.

While presenting the report, Senator Kabiru Gaya (APC, Kaduna), chairman of the Committee, said that the panel’s investigation revealed that the petition against the nominee had nothing to do with his integrity.
