Uprising Nigerian artist Portable has refuted claims that award-winning singer Olamide and Poco Lee are responsible for his success in Nigeria’s music industry, as he says he was already popular before meeting them.
The singer stated this in an interview, adding that he was already well-known for his songs before meeting Olamide.
“No one connected me. Everyone DMs you when their turn to be famous arrives. No one made me well-known. I know I trended, the singer admitted.
Recall that Portable came to the limelight after meeting Olamide with the help of famous dancer Poco Lee.
He featured Olamide and Poco Lee in his street hop single “Zazoo Zeh,” which gave him popularity in the music industry.
The controversial musician has been involved in several problems with his fellow musicians in 2022, as he made headlines for violently attacking one of his signees following a disagreement.
The singer also claimed to have founded a cult that had terrorised residents in parts of Lagos state years back which he later denied.
