Supol Ayeni, a police officer, was crushed to death by a patrol van belonging to the Ekiti State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) unit along Federal Polytechnic, Ado/Ijan Road on Tuesday evening, December 28, 2021.
According to SaharaReporters, the RRS operatives were allegedly chasing suspected fraudsters, also known as Yahoo boys, when they collided with a colleague on a motorcycle.
Supol Ayeni, an Odo Ado police officer, died on the spot, according to reports.
The incident was confirmed by the deceased’s colleague. He went on to say that the RRS agents involved had been identified and detained at the state headquarters.
