Pep Guardiola has revealed hat will happen if Manchester City does not win the Premier League this year. Guardiola stated that the only thing he asks of his team is that they fight until they realize they have no hope of winning the championship.
Prior to their travel to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, Guardiola stated at his post-match press conference on Wednesday that his team will not give up the title race.
He claimed that the Citizens would be ready to compete again the next season, the instant it became clear they couldn’t win the league.
Manchester are presently behind Arsenal by eight points, but with a win vs Chelsea, they may cut that deficit to five points.
“My target always as a manager is to try to be yourself and be better than the opponent, and after if you concede one shot and they score and we can’t score, you have to accept it and move forward.
“What I want to see is us still fighting, not giving up, not now, until the last chance, until the last drop of water we can fight to win the Premier League, and the moment we are not able to win the Premier League we have to be ready to compete next season,” he said.
