Paolo Maldini, who is a legendary AC Milan player, has left Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo off his list of the top three players he has ever watched play the game.
As his top three footballers, Paolo Maldini listed former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario, late Napoli star Diego Maradona, and Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain.
The former defender made the comment in the upcoming film “The Phenomenon,” which is about Brazilian Ronaldo.
During Ronaldo’s five-year tenure with Inter Milan, the five-time UEFA Champions League champion, who also spent a year and a half playing alongside him at Milan, faced off against him numerous times.
During a wonderful career that lasted over 25 years, the 54-year-old played for one of the greatest teams of all time and competed against some great footballers.
When asked to name the three best players that he has seen, Maldini said: “The three greatest players I saw during my career were Messi, Maradona and him [Ronaldo Nazario].”
The fact that Maldini ignored Ronaldo while listing the top best footballers doesn’t mean that C. Ronaldo isn’t one of the greatest players of all time.
C. Ronaldo is definitely one of the greatest footballers of all time, in all aspect.
