The Oyo State Police Command has denied the alleged abduction of 18 passengers along the Igboora-Eruwa road in the state on Thursday morning.
Recall that some online media claimed that unknown gunmen seized an 18-seater bus and kidnapped all of its passengers.
Ngozi Onadeko, the state Commissioner of Police, denied the claim on Thursday while parading four alleged kidnappers and 33 other criminals who were involved with other offences such as sodomy, vehicle snatching, and pickpocketing at the command’s headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
According to Onadeko, when the command learned of the abduction, it made attempts to verify its authenticity and found that none of the sorts had occurred.
“I would implore people to refrain from spreading false rumours that will instil fear in the society.

“The Oyo State Command will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of people and properties.
“People should provide us with reliable information that will enable us to stop crime and criminality in the state,” she said.
Onadeko, on the other hand, believes that the parade of offenders will serve as a deterrent to criminals and will help to minimize violence in the State and Nigeria at large.
