Former Green Eagles player Felix Owolabi has praised Ahmed Musa’s decision to play for Kano Pillars saying that the move complements his position as the Super Eagles captain.
Owolabi, a former player for the IICC Shooting Stars, now known as the Ibadan Shooting Stars, told newsmen that Musa’s departure would help the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
After leaving the Saudi Arabia Pro League, the Super Eagles captain will play for his former team, Kano Pillars, for the remainder of the season.
“This is extremely commendable; now I have another excuse to praise him. The fact is that it is not new; late Rashid Yekini did the same, as did Daniel Amokachi, and I think it is admirable.
“Imagine what will happen at Liberty Stadium if Kano Pillars and Shooting Stars perform together; the stadium will be packed.

“Imagine what it will do for our league; it will make our league stronger.
”As a professional, daily playing time is critical, and he knows that, so I don’t see it as a sign of regression,” he said.
Recall that Musa has been a free agent since leaving Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr on October 25, 2020.
