Police in Ogun State have arrested Eluyera Wasiu, 35, for allegedly engaging his friend, Adeniyi Samuel, to murder his 29-year-old pregnant wife.
According to Ogun state police command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect and his accomplice were apprehended after the DPO Ogijo Police Division in the state’s Sagamu Local Government Area got a distress call.
He claimed that on January 2, the police received information from concerned members of the public that the two males were engaged in a very violent fight in the Oponuwa Area of Ogijo, which could result in serious harm or death if they were not separated.
He went on to say that after receiving the distress call, the DPO, CSP Muhammed Baba, dispatched his men to the spot, where the two suspects were apprehended. He claimed that during questioning, Adeniyi Samuel told police that Eluyera Wasiu had hired him to murder his pregnant wife, Bola Taiwo.
According to him, Wasiu offered him N10,000 for the task, of which he had already given him N5,000, with the remainder to be paid “on completion of the job.”
