Members of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) paid a courtesy call on Kunle Soname, founder of Bet9ja sports betting company, on Wednesday in Lagos, for his contribution to youth development through sports.
The NOC Team was led by Tunde Popoola, Secretary-General, Ademola Are, Chairman of the Marketing Commission and Emmanuel Nweri, Senior Manager.
Tony Nezianya, NOC’s Public Relations Officer, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria
Soname, who was excited over the show of solidarity, expressed his gratitude, particularly because the visit came at the time Remo Stars, his football club, represented Nigeria in CAF Champions League.
In spite of the club’s narrow 3-2 defeat on penalty kicks to Medeama SC of Ghana, Soname observed that the presence and support of the NOC meant the world to him and the club.
“Your courtesy call showcases the strong bond and unity within the sports community, and it will leave a lasting impression on me.
“That you took the time out of your busy schedules to stand by my side during this important match is worthy of note,” he said.
Soname reiterated his commitment to the development of sports in the country and urged other enthusiasts to support sports development programmes.
