Ex-International, Kunle Odunlami who played for the Super Eagles at the CHAN 2014 tournament has joined Ekiti United FC for the 2023/ 2024 Nigeria National League(NNL) season.
The team Secretary, Ayodeji Olowolafe and the team Manager, Adedeji Adu disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Ado-Ekiti.
He said ” top on the list of the fresh legs that have been signed by Ekiti United FC to prosecute the fast approaching NNL season is an ex-international footballer, Kunle Odunlami .
Olowolafe said that Odunlami had played for Sunshine Stars FC of Akure and Rivers United FC and El-Merreikh FC of Sudan.
“The defender while penning his contract papers at the club secretariat, said it was a dream come true for him to play for the State Football team where he hailed from.
“The players who made up the squad are a mix of players retained from last season due to their impressive individual performances and invited players with proven potentials and young players promoted from the team`s Feeder Team.
He said that some former players, who had gone to play professional football with other top clubs sides have re-united with the team.
“Old and new players expressed determination to be part of the history to break the promotion jinx,”he said.
He said that management of the club has provided a conducive environment among other facilities in preparation for the season.
The news Agency of Nigeria reports that Ekiti United is drawn in the Southern Conference Group A for the 2023/24 NNL season which scheduled to commence on Oct. 28.
