Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), has claimed that if given the choice between the “neocolonial system” currently practised in the country and an Islamic government system, most Nigerians would prefer Islamic rule.
El-Zakzaky made the claim during an exclusive live interview with an Iranian Press TV channel monitored in Kano on Wednesday evening. This was his first interview since regaining his freedom on July 28, 2021, following his arrest and detention alongside his wife since December 2015.
He also revealed that the IMN, which he leads, is looking for an Islamic government system to replace the neocolonial system that he claims is currently in use.
