Nigeria Professional Football League, Lobi Stars F.C have disregarded rumours claiming they made move to sign Cristiano Ronaldo following his contract termination with Manchester United.
The ex-Manchester United forward became an option to the transfer windows since he left Carrington on Monday, ending his second spell with the club where he rose to prominence under Alex Ferguson.
Ronaldo has been making headlines of recent since his controversial interview with Piers Morgan where he dragged the club and some legends. He also exposed other bad deeds at Old Trafford.
After his statement, United immediately disclosed plans to handle the situation and ended Ronaldo’s second stay at the red devil’s club, with half a year still remaining on his contract after mutual negotiations with both parties.
Currently, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is clubless and has been linked to many clubs across the globe including the top-flight division of Nigeria league, Lobi Stars.
Lobi Stars statement:
Pls be informed that #WeAreLobi is yet to make any contact with representatives of #CristianoRonaldo following his release from @ManUtd.
We wish him the best & #LobiStars will make no further comment on this,” the statement said.
Ronaldo who is currently in Qatar for international duties at the world Cup 2022, is going to decide on his future when he return.
