The president, Major General Muhammadu |Buhari (ret. ), has promised that Nigeria will undergo a profound transition if Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, is elected as the nation’s next leader.
The nation would advance “from what has so far been achieved throughout the country in the last seven plus years,” he added, under Tinubu’s presidency in 2023.
When visiting the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Office in Gusau, |Buhari made these remarks in the person of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, and expressed confidence in the APC’s victory in Zamfara in the upcoming general elections in 2023.
The President also took advantage of the opportunity, according to a statement made by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC’s publicity secretary in Zamfara State to attend the closing ceremony of this year’s Musabaka Qur’anic recitation competition hosted in the state.
Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Zamfara State, led him on a tour.
The statement said, “He commended the arrangement put in place by the coordinator saying that the effort jointly put in place by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, former governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa accounted for the rousing welcome his delegation received while in the state.
“He assured people of the state that with APC’s Tinubu as the next President, the nation will witness overwhelming transformation, moving ahead from what has so far been achieved throughout the country in the last seven plus years.
“The President thanked the citizens of Zamfara and all Nigerians for their support in his leadership and asked Nigerians to continue supporting the APC by securing its victory at all levels in the upcoming elections,” reads a statement from the White House.
“Zamfara is the home ground of the APC whereby rival parties look non-existent,” Governor Bello Matawalle told the President and his delegation earlier.
The governor, who is also the APC’s North West Zonal Coordinator, claimed that electing Senator Marafa, a seasoned state campaign coordinator, has boosted and simplified his duties in that capacity.
