Megastar Rihanna is set to make her eagerly awaited comeback to music this week after launching high-fashion lines, lingerie lines, beauty brands, becoming a millionaire, and having a baby, her representatives announced on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old will debut a brand-new single titled “Lift Me Up” on Friday, six years after his last solo release. It will appear on the soundtrack for the Marvel sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
Her previous solo single was “Love on the Brain” in 2016.
In collaboration with Roc Nation, Def Jam Recordings, and Hollywood Records, Megastar Rihanna is releasing the new single on her Westbury Road label.
A quick taste of the new song, which featured humming over strings, was shared online by the singer who performed the classics “Diamonds” and “Umbrella.”
The news was released just a few weeks after the NFL revealed that pop sensation Rihanna would headline the coveted Super Bowl halftime show in February.
Since 2019 is almost over, Rihanna has been dropping hints about her upcoming ninth album, which she has promised will be “reggae-infused.”
The Barbadian-born artist, however, has shifted her attention to other endeavors, becoming the first Black woman to lead a fashion company for the French conglomerate LVMH, which owns storied names like Givenchy and Fendi.
In May, she gave birth to her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky.
Singer, actress, and businesswoman Robyn Rihanna Fenty is from Barbados. Rihanna, who was born in Saint Michael and reared in Bridgetown, Barbados, gave a demo tape to American record producer Evan Rogers, who invited her to the country to record. She quickly rose to fame after joining Def Jam in 2005 and releasing her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006), both of which had Caribbean music influences and landed in the top ten of the US Billboard 200 chart.
