The All Progressives Congress’ (APC) presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu` has claimed that a market woman taught him how to be an amazing accountant.
This was said in a tweet by the former governor of Lagos State on Tuesday night.
He claimed that in addition to having friends among professors, senior lawyers, and bankers, he also had pals among market ladies and bus drivers.
“My name is Bola Tinubu. I’m a friend to Professors, Senior Lawyers, Bankers, Engineers. I’m also a friend to Market Women, Taxi and Bus Drivers.
“You know that it was a Market Woman who trained me to become an Accountant…”, he tweeted.
Tinubu` had made fun of his rival presidential candidates earlier in the day by asserting that he does not wrestle with pigs.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and others, according to Tinubu, lack the kind of experience needed to lead the country at a town hall gathering in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.
He claims that rival presidential contenders have used epithets and abuse to distract him, divert his focus, and engage in a power struggle with him.
Tinubu was born and raised in the southwest of Nigeria. He later immigrated to the United States and enrolled at Chicago State University to study accounting. He returned to Nigeria in the early 1980s and took a job as an accountant with Mobil Nigeria before joining politics in 1992 as the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for the Lagos West senate seat. After the tyrannical Sani Abacha dissolved the Senate in 1993, Tinubu became a campaigner for the restoration of democracy as a member of the National Democratic Coalition movement.
