Lionel ‘Messi has named his favourites heading into the World Cup in Quatar. Brazil and France are Lionel Messi’s picks to win this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
WHAT OCCURED?
On November 20, the highlight event in Qatar gets underway as the world’s top national teams compete for the title. The French are the current world champions, but several other teams want to unseat Didier Deschamps’ squad. Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, co-stars at Paris Saint-Germain, have been chosen by Messi as potential winners for France and Brazil, respectively.
The Argentina star, Lionel ‘Messi told DIRECTV Sports: “We always say the same great teams… but, if I have to choose, Brazil and France are the two great candidates to win the World Cup”.
“They’ve had the same group [of players] for a long time, working well. France, aside from the last Euros when they were eliminated [in the last 16] and did badly, they have some impressive players. They have a clear idea and the same coach [Didier Deschamps]. Brazil is a bit the same [under Tite].”
To advance to the knockout rounds, Brazil must defeat Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon, while France must defeat Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia in their group. In Group C, Messi and his Argentina team will compete against Saudi Arabia, Poland, and Mexico.
