Mr Paul Ayeni, the Lagos state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has pledged maximum support for Dangote facilities in the State.
He stated this on Saturday, March 27, 2021, during a visit to the Dangote Oil Refinery and Petrochemicals Company Limited in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos with the aim of providing them with adequate security protection.
According to Ayeni, the inspection was also to boost synergy between the NSCDC and the Dangote companies.
He emphasized that the NSCDC was more committed than ever to safeguarding the facilities in order to improve the nation’s economic efficiency.
While inspecting the facilities and the NSCDC staff assigned to them, the Commandant praised Aliko Dangote, the Dangote Group’s Founder and Chief Executive, for being a visionary leader and flexible business mogul.
He instructed the NSCDC staff stationed at the facilities to keep a close eye on the situation at all times.
“On the order of NSCDC Commandant – General (CG), Mr Ahmed Audi, I am on a security visit to these facilities,” Ayeni said.
“You must all be prepared to protect these facilities, which are invaluable to the government. Our new CG has pledged a performance bonus for employees who provide outstanding service.
“This visit is also to determine your level of alertness, devotion, and commitment to duty,” Ayeni said.
Meanwhile, Ayeni urged the staff to remain loyal to the corps’ mission and to be great ambassadors for the corps.
On his part the Dangote Industries Limited’s Group Executive Director of Strategy, Capital Projects, and Portfolio Development, Deva Kumar Edwin thanked the NSCDC for their tireless efforts.
“We appreciate the NSCDC’s security of lives and property at the Dangote Oil refinery.
“Your workers are doing a fantastic job on the tasks, but this company also needs them to do more,” Edwin said.
