A human rights activist and a known supporter of the Labour Party Aisha Yesufu has admonished her fellow party members and supporters known as Obidients who are still traumatised by the outcome of the 2023 general elections.
Aisha Yesufu in a tweet shared on her Twitter handle shared the decision she took after the June 12 1993 elections that was cancelled by the then administration.
She said her number one priority at that time was to survive bad governance and put herself in a position she can be a voice for change.
She, however, noted that it’s okay for anyone who is trying to survive today, in order to be a voice tomorrow.
She wrote, “I did nothing other than to go and vote on June 12th 1993. I did not make any demand after the cancellation nor did I join any protest. My number one priority was surviving the bad governance and putting myself in a position where I can be a voice one day. It’s okay if you are surviving to be tomorrow’s voice.”
