Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, a former military leader, denied endorsing Peter Obi as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the upcoming 2023 election.
After the support of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Peter Obi received the endorsement of the former military leader a few hours ago, according to a tweet.
Olusegun Obasanjo is an elder statesman who attained greatness in the military, and Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (Ret.) respected his decision to nominate him for president in 2023.
However, speaking through his spokesperson, Prince Afegua denied the endorsement, noting that if his Gen. Ibrahim Babangida wanted to endorse anyone, he would do it through a signed document and not a Twitter account because he does not have any.
The Spokesman stated, “ignore the report of endorsement; it’s not true, and IBB does not have a Twitter account.”
He continued, “Those behind the Twitter account are liars; if he is going to speak, it will not be through Twitter but through signed documents.”
Recall that with regards to the next presidential election Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the nation’s former leader endorsed Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Beyond what we’ve got recently, we need excellent leadership that is selfless, bold, honest, and patriotic.
“My Appeal to all Nogery, particularly Young Nigerians,” was the title of a letter written by Obasanjo and addressed to Nigerian youths. Peter Obi was described in the letter.
“like a needle with thread attached to it from North and South, so he might not get misplaced”, words by General Olusegun Obasanjo.
