27-year-old Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, said she awaiting confirmation from the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking time by an individual.
She stated this while reacting to GWR response to an inquiry by a Twitter user Alexander, in the early hours of Monday, questioning why Baci’s success had not yet been recognised by the body.
Alexander wrote, “Why is Guinness World Records not showing or talking about Hilda’s cook-a-thon? Can’t see anything on their pages (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).”
In response to his Tweet, the GWR wrote on its official Twitter handle, “We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record.”
Reacting to its tweet, Hilda said, “I can’t wait for it to be official.”
The chef has hit a 100-hour mark surpassing the record of 87 hours, 47 minutes set by an Indian Chef Lata Tondon in 2019.
