Former Housemate Of Level Up Edition, BBNaija Hermes Chibueze Iyele, has revealed that he and his siblings were given named after gods.
The performance artist, BBNaija Hermes, during one of his post-eviction interviews, stated his father name all four of them after various gods.
He said ‘Hermes’ is not a stage moniker but what his father gave him at birth.
“My father named us four after gods. My two brothers are Akhnaton and Kuthumi, while my sister is Isis. Hermes is my real name,” he said.
In ancient Greek mythology and religion, Hermes is an Olympian deity. As the gods’ herald, Hermes is renowned.
He is also regarded as the guardian of humans, travelers, merchants, thieves, and orators.
He is able to move rapidly and easily between the worlds of the mortal and the heavenly, aided by his winged sandals.
As a conductor of souls into the afterlife, or “psychopomp,” Hermes assumes the role of this figure.
Akhenaten, also spelled Akhenaton, Akhnaton, or Ikhnaton, also called Amenhotep IV, Greek Amenophis, was an ancient Egyptian king.
He was the 18th dynasty ruler of ancient Egypt (1353–36 BCE), and he founded a new cult honoring the sun’s disk known as the Aton (hence his assumed name, Akhenaten, which translates to “useful to Aton”).
