I already knew people: Arin Olowoporoku, one of the housemates evicted from Big Brother Naija last Sunday, stated that she was aware that people would judge her based on her appearance, particularly the piercings on various parts of her body, even before she entered the show.
She stated this in an interview with Sunday Scoop “I definitely did not expect to win, I feel like I know enough Nigerians to know that they were going to judge me. I had no idea they were going to ‘villainize me as much as they did, but I did know they were going to judge me. But I expected to be in the competition for about five or seven weeks. Despite the fact that I left earlier than expected.
When asked why she expected to be judged, she responded, “Of course, because of my face and how I look.” I am a skinny, dark-skinned woman. In addition, I am very outspoken, opinionated, and ferocious. I have several facial piercings and am very expressive. People do not typically expect that from women, so I knew I would be judged. People find me perplexing until they have personal interactions with me. They do not understand me, but as they get closer, their perceptions of me change.”
Arin explained her love of piercings by saying, “I was young and I really loved to express myself.” I wanted to wear jewellery and accessories in unusual and unusual places. I just wanted piercings, so I got them. I began when I was 15 years old and have not stopped since.

“I used to have 23 piercings, but I removed some and now have 17.” However, not all of them will be permanent. It shifted from time to time.”
The self-proclaimed feminist and fashion designer also mentioned that another housemate and current Head of House, Maria, apologized for having a negative impression of her. “I had no disagreements with Maria,” she stated. She was, in fact, one of the first girls with whom I struck up a conversation. We were friends at first, but she later said she thought I was lying about my friendship with her, so she started lying to me as well. She did, however, apologize. She pulled me aside for a conversation one day and apologized when she realized I was sincere in my friendship with her. I took her apology and moved on.”
The former housemate also admitted to being attracted to a number of men in the house. “I have a list (of people I was attracted to),” she explained. Boma, Saga, Jaypaul, and Cross are their names. They were appealing to me. Boma and I used to flirt and make sexual jokes all the time.”
