Groom shot dead: A groom has been shot and killed, leaving his devastated wife drenched in his blood immediately after his wedding.
The 32-year-old Marco Antonio was shot and killed in Caborca, Mexico, after the church ceremony while holding the hand of his wife and making his way to their car.
It is thought that rival city cartel gangs mistook the IT engineer for a threat.
Tragically, a picture of his wife being assisted by a loved one was shown with her clothes covered in blood.
Local media said that Antonio’s sister had also been shot in the back.
Antonio’s death was certified by officials to have been caused by a “direct attack” with a gun, stating that is possible that his shooting was an error.
The notorious Caborca Cartel, led by drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero, is based in Carboca. The gang and the Los Salazar network are at odds right now over drug trafficking activities.
Investigations suggest that the attack against Marco Antonio was targeted at a different person who was also getting married at the same time in a separate nearby city, according to the prosecutor’s office.
