Pac, a friend of suspected Nigerian fraudster Hushpuppi who was arrested alongside him in 2020, has been released.
In an Instagram post, the Nigerian man based in Dubai recalled being arrested alongside Hushpuppi on June 9, 2020. According to him, the arrest happened a week before his birthday, and he thought it was the end of the world.
Pac stated that his search for greener pastures resulted in the darkest six months of his life. He revealed that he was released because security agents had no information on him. The Instagram user also expressed hope for Hushpuppi’s good fortune.
It’s not funny how a dramatic turn of events can forever change everything. What appeared to be a search for greener pastures turned out to be the darkest 6 months of my life. The agonies of torture, the agonies of incarceration, my life, which had been lived with hope and great expectations, was crumbling before me.
A year ago today, I, Rahman (Hushpuppi), and a few other friends were arrested in Dubai; it was a week before my birthday, and I thought the end was near. How am I going to get out of these? I came to Dubai looking for opportunities, but now I’m behind bars. The experience was unpleasant, and I would not wish it on a foe. They have nothing on me, miraculously.

Freedom is good, but the experience has left an indelible mark on me because I am unable to free my thoughts and minds from the clutches of confinement. I am still having nightmares.
For what it’s worth, I’m content to walk down the street and breathe in the fresh air as a free man. I am grateful for life and the grace to look forward to my next birthday as a celebration of life rather than a countdown of days with the possibility of the worst outcomes. Life hasn’t been the same since especially with my best friend and benefactor (Hushpuppi) still imprisoned.
I hope he gets lucky as well. I hope he makes it back to his friends and family in one piece.
Finally Hushpuppi’s friend regains…
