FG bans: The Federal Government has imposed a travel ban on over 2,000 Nigerians and foreigners, limiting their ability to enter and exit the country.
Mukhtar Muhammad, the Presidential Steering Committee’s National Incident Manager, revealed this at a briefing in Abuja.
The PSC said in a statement on COVID-19 said that it had barred over 2,000 Nigerians and foreigners from leaving and entering the country for a year for failing the coronavirus Polymerase Chain Reaction test at the country’s international airports.
Muhammad revealed that the names of over 2,000 citizens and foreigners had been shared across major federal medical facilities in the country, where medical experts had been assigned to care for Nigerians and foreigners who had entered the country during the COVID-19 third wave.
He stated that the government had warned passengers arriving in the country from high-risk countries to quarantine in a government-provided facility and that those who did not comply with the protocol had their passports suspended for a year.
