Can I know you?
My name is Ezenwa Chinwendu Anasthesia. Popularly known as Annie kings. I’m 24 years old. I base in Onitsha/Owerri.
From O’town what inspired you to do music?
I listen to songs whenever I feel sad or depressed and it always cheers me up somehow. So I felt like I should venture into it fully to be able to connect to people like me too. If it’s helping me, it could also be helping someone else out there. So I said to myself why not do it.
I sing and rap at the same time. Music in general is everything to me. It’s like my bedrock. The lyrical rhyming never ceases to amaze me which always makes it inspiring. I write songs too… when I’m inspired.

When did you start singing?
I started singing in 2014 when I got out of high school. Started by covering people’s songs and then I decided to give a shot at writing my own songs and it turned out perfect. I’ve been writing since then till date.
Any challenges so far?
Too many challenges, Lack of publicity, Low funds, inconsistency, self-doubts and all that.
Blackbird is the title of your new single, why the title, what message is it conveying?
The song is a soundtrack from a movie I saw years back titled ‘Beyond the lights’. Somehow I feel like I could relate to the character Nina in the movie. Having the desire to be free from a lot of things. Life, Depression and Self-doubt too.
How can people get the song?
So far It’s just the video going around. Anticipate the link very soon.
