In marking this year’s #EndSARS Memorial a former housemate of Big Brother Naija Reality TV Show Daniella Peters has joined other Nigerian celebrities to remember those who lost their lives at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos State.
Daniella who is also a poet took to her Twitter handle to release a video she captioned “what is my name”
In the poem, she described Nigeria as a nation that preaches democracy but is now just left with the “mockery of the democratic vision” that it once had.
She claimed that the efforts of previous leaders had been in vain, but she refrained from going into further detail.
Recall that today being 20th October 2022, marked two years since innocent protesters who were only asking for good governance and the end of police brutality in Nigeria were killed at the Lekki toll gate.
The Federal Government and the State Government said no one was killed while evidence showing the moment they were shot by armed military officers was released by eyewitnesses.
Earlier today, celebrities including Mr. Macaroni, Faz, and others swarmed the Lekki toll gate to organise a procession in remembrance of the lives lost during the #EndSARS protest in October 2020.
Nigerians turn out in large numbers for the peaceful walk in remembrance of their countrymen who were brutally murdered at that toll gate.
However, the Nigerian Police did what they do best using tear gas to disperse peaceful protestors and intimidate the media.
