Portuguese captain and legend, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to his social media pages to mourn the death of the Brazilian football Legend, Pele.
After the announcement of Pele’s death many celebrities and footballers have taken to their official social media accounts to mourn his death, and Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t an exception.
The former Manchester United striker and 5 times Ballon d’Or winner took to his official facebook page to pen down his heartfelt condolences to the Brazilian legend’s family.
He wrote: “My deep condolences to all of Brazil and in particular to the family if Edson Arantes do Nascimento. A mere goodbye to the eternal king Pele will never be enough to express the pain that the entire football world is currently embracing. An inspiration to so many millions, a reference yesterday, today and forever. The love you always shows me was always reciprocated in every moment we shared even from distance.”
“He will never be forgotten and his memory will live forever in each and every one of us football lovers. Rest in peace King Pele.”
Recall that Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal were eliminated from the quarter finals of the 2022 world cup in Qatar by African side, Morocco.
The match ended in defeat, as Morocco triumphed over Portugal in a 1-0 victory.
Two videos which were captured from the match were making rounds online, one was when Ronaldo was spotted crying as he walked down the tunnel and went home.
While some of his tollers, mostly Messi fans took to the comment section to troll and taunt him; the latter consoled him and respected him for his achievements despites failing to win a world cup throughout his career.
And the other video which went viral, was a clip of Cristiano Ronaldo helping his Moroccan opponents get up from the floor after just sustaining an injury.
