The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said 149,882 cases of coronavirus were recovered from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with 97 new cases registered.
On Thursday 25, March 2021, the NCDC revealed this on its official Twitter account.
It also stated that it followed its guidance and managed 1,015 community recoveries in the FCT and 10 community recoveries in Akwa Ibom State and also added that the data from the FCT was recorded over the last two days
The agency said in the last 24 hours, 1,156 people were successfully treated and discharged from various isolation centres across the country.
However the 97 new cases took the total number of infections in the country to 162,275 while the new infections were recorded in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with Lagos recording 50 cases, Kaduna 12, the FCT 10, and Bayelsa 8.
Imo had three cases, Kwara had two, Bauchi had two, Osun had two, and Akwa Ibom, Edo, Kano, Ogun, Oyo, Plateau, and Zamfara each had one.
They also noted that in the last 24 hours, there were 11,421 active cases in the region.
NCDC further announce five more COVID-19-related deaths, taking the total number of deaths to 2,036.
The country’s regular new cases have continued to decline from an all-time high of 2,314 new positive cases on Jan. 22 to 86 cases as of March 21.
Since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was declared on February 27, 2020, the country has screened 1,727, 467 people.
