Young Nigerian music star Rema has taken afrobeat to a new height as his song “Calm Down,” becomes the number one single in India.
Rema, whose true name is Divine Ikubor, announced his breakthrough on the microblogging platform Twitter.
Sharing the news he wrote “Number 1 in India”.
Meanwhile, a trending throwback video has shown the singer saying he will love to dominate India as many people have heavily criticized him for sounding Indian.
Nonetheless, he openly stated that he would want to take Afrobeats into areas where no one has gone before.

Dynamic News Hub reports that Afrobeat singer, Rema has reached a milestone in his career as he becomes the singer with the highest views on his music video on YouTube in 2022.
The 22-year-old singer surpassed his senior colleagues like Burna Boy, wizkid, Davido, and others to emerge the winner of the title.
The 22 years old ‘Dumebi’ crooner and Mavins singer, who previously had a fantastic year in 2022, had reached a billion listen across lead credit on Spotify.
The Afrobeat song “Calm Down,” remix, in which he featured Selena Gomez, is one of the biggest songs of 2022.
This song became the quickest to reach this height, getting over 300 million views on YouTube in just 10 months with the single.
Recalls that Rema reacted after ex-President of America, Barack Obama, released his 2022 songs playlist, which included Rema’s hit track, Calm Down.
