BBNaija’s Eric Akhigbe, a former housemate on Big Brother Naija Lockdown, has been accused of defrauding individuals by offering them BBN positions.
The reality personality allegedly collected millions from people after offering them spots in the BBN house.
Unfortunately for him, when he was purportedly picked up after arriving from the UK, he met his waterloo.
Recall that Baby C, a young woman, had accused Eric of defrauding her by giving her a bogus BBN slot.
She disclosed on social media that an ex-BBNaija housemate conned her out of millions of naira. Eric received the N5.3m from the singer in exchange for helping her get into and stay in the BBNaija house.
She referred to him as a con artist and detailed how the reality star, with another person’s assistance collected her N5.3m.
Baby C posted screenshots of her conversations with Eric both before and after realizing her money had vanished.
According to the conversations Baby C and Eric had, they were intended to assist her in joining the Big Brother Naija platform. When Baby C realized she had lost her money and her spot on the reality program, that was the last thing she spoke to BBNaija’s Eric.
“When I was conned out of N5.3 million by an ex-BBNaija housemate, who took the money to move to the UK. The person I refer to as my brother. Omo people are evil”.
Baby C confirmed that Eric was the BBNaija star that scammed her in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng.
She said, “Eric was my friend. We were in the same department in Unilag and we were close to an extent. When he got the final confirmation that he was going to be in the house. I was one of the first persons he called and asked me to support him. I formed a group and raised funds for his campaign.”
Since realizing she had been duped, Baby C has been working to recover her N5.3 million.
One person is in the custody of SCID Panti while the case is still being investigated. Eric’s parents have been asked to pay the money back on his behalf because they learned he is in the UK pursuing his Master’s degree.
“If that doesn’t work, the authorities would transport him back to Nigeria to stand trial after informing the UK embassy”, She spoke.
