BBNaija ‘Level Up Housemates are keen to share their Nigerian history in the greatest way possible since they are proud of it.
Big Brother Naija incorporates a lot of Nigerian culture. Each season’s outcome has been greatly influenced by the cuisine, the people, the songs, the art, and other kinds of expression, and this season is no exception. My Nigeria: A Tribute to the Cultural Heritage of Nigeria is this week’s subject at Biggie’s House. This indicates that the Housemates will leave the BBNaija Level Up House with a genuine Naija experience.
There have been times during the ‘Level Up season when we have admired the beauty and diversity of Naija culture.
Let’s examine some instances where the Nigerian spirit shone as brightly as the sun.
1) Housemates Honour Servicemen And Servicewomen
*The Task Of Serving Humanity
The first Wager Task won after the Levels were combined required the Housemates paying homage to people who devote their lives to serving and improving society. This accomplishment was made possible by using traditional Nigerian songs and dancing in their performance. Biggie and the other Housemates’ exhibition of vibrant costumes, impressive dance moves, and lovely traditional music confirmed the presence of the unyielding Naija spirit in the home.
2) Jollof Rice Project
Jollof, a rice-based dish with tomatoes, onions, spices, veggies, and meat all cooked in one pot and originally from Senegal, is the one meal that unites all Nigerians. Since then, it has acquired a new character in Nigeria and has become a mainstay at celebrations there. As they made the dish to compete for delectable prizes, the Housemates had the chance to display their Jollof-making prowess.
3) The Task Of Afrofuturism
*Task in Afrofuturism
Biggie gave us a glimpse into Nigeria’s future and the potential contribution of our culture to its growth during the Afrofuturism Wager week. Once more, Nigerian culture was evident when traditional components were incorporated into made-up technology equipment created by the Level Up Housemates.
4) Housemates Dance To Nigerian Music
*Musical Moments
Have you ever observed how energized the Housemates become whenever they clean the house in the morning, party by the pool, or hang out in the party room? Modern Nigerian music is one thing that connects these moments. This season, the Afrobeats movement is strong, and we can feel it. Through good and terrible times, Nigerian music has supported the Housemates and evolved into a distinguishing element that allows Housemates and spectators to understand the Naija experience.
5) Moments Of Self Expression
Pidgin English and other expressions that are distinctive to Nigerian culture include “Who dey..?,” “commot body jor!” and “omo.” Pidgin English, which has acted as an informal lingua franca for Nigerians and is the simplest form of communication that cuts across the great majority of its people, was created by combining Portuguese, Dutch, English, and numerous local languages. The Housemates now have the freedom to use it as a medium of communication thanks to Biggie, allowing them additional chances to express themselves.
BBNaija is a distinctive experience thanks to the Naija spirit, and we are confident that this won’t change anytime soon.
