Prof. Christopher Imumolen, the presidential candidate of Accord Party (AP) in the 2023 presidential election, has commended President Bola Tinubu for high youth representation in his appointments.
Imumolen who gave the commendation at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja, charged young appointees to live up to expectation.
The AP chieftain said that the youth carried creativity, energy, exposure and the knowledge to drive the country to the next destination.
He said that Tinubu had hearkened to the yearnings of the youth, saying that the responsibility of creating a positive change in the country now rested on the shoulder the young appointees.
According to him, if you see the appointment coming up now, 85 per cent of the appointments were given to the youth.
“It is very encouraging and I love it. That is what we are fighting for; the youth carry the technical knowledge to solve the country’s problems. We are the ones that have the strength deliver our country.
“What Nigerians expect from the appointees is for them to exhibit their creative talents.
“By thinking outside the box in order to convince Nigerians that the youths have what it takes to turn things around positively in the interest of the nation.
“They should not disappoint the youth who have been clamouring for inclusiveness in the affairs of Nigeria.
“They must show Nigerians that they have what it takes to create a positive change in the social, economy and political landscape of the country,” he said.
Imumolen, who was the youngest contestant in the 2023 presidential race said that challenges confronting Nigeria included insecurity, hunger, starvation and massive infrastructural deficit.
According to him, the youth are expected to deploy technology, artificial intelligence among others to address the country’s challenges.
The AP 2023 presidential flag bearer urged other contestants in the elections to allow Tinubu to work for the development of Nigeria.
He said that all the contestants should focus on what should be done to achieve a strong and vibrant country which is the desire of all Nigerians.
“For us in the Accord Party, we did not go to court even if we lost out in the election, what is most important is that Nigeria should win.
“There is no perfect situation anywhere in the world. What every candidate who contested in the last presidential election should do now is to come together and see how we can make our country better,” he said.
