Bishop Thomas Aremu a Pastor at the Living Faith Church worldwide popularly known as Winners Chapel says Africa’s ancestors are responsible for the continent misfortune and poverty.
The clergyman stated this during a Sunday service on April 11, 2021, tagged breaking generational curses.
According to the clergyman, African ancestors committed a lot of atrocities that is speaking against the continent, despite the natural resources God blessed them with.
He noted that before the arrival of Christianity in the region, they worshipped idols and used human being for sacrifice among other ill they committed.
He cited example with Deuteronomy chapter 5 vs. 9 which says “You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.

He noted that the rewards of what their forefathers did are the reason for so many people poverty, pain and misfortune.
According to him, USA, UK, and other developed countries are prosperous because their ancestors served God and didn’t indulge in diabolic activities the Africans did.
However, he assured the congregation not to be scared or afraid of the generational curses as there is an escape route for them.
According to him, the only way out of any Generational curses is to accept Jesus as one’s personal Lord and Saviour.
Speaking to some of the church members after the church service, Joy Adah a worshiper told our reporter that what the clergyman said is true and she believes that Jesus is the only way out of every curse.
While John Ogavi said he has been set free from every generational curse via the word of God he received through the clergyman.
Despite Africa’s abundant natural wealth, the continent and its inhabitants have been exploited for decades. Yes, many African countries are among the poorest in the world, with a significant proportion of the people living below the poverty line.
