The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor Mrs Martha Emmanuel has condemned the rise of rape, child trafficking, and baby factories business in the state.
The first lady stated this while speaking at the monthly women’s prayer summit in Uyo on Friday, April 30, 2021.
She stated that, despite her modest efforts to stem the tide, some bad elements in the state were hell-bent on committing heinous crimes.
She urged mothers to keep an eye on their children, citing an increase in reports of rape, child pornography, trafficking, and baby factories in the state.
She reaffirmed her commitment to putting an end to the state’s vices and urged mothers to do their part by not abdicating their roles as caregivers.
The prayer summit’s theme was “Taking Over Territories.”
“I encourage women to rise and take control of the land because the devil is on the prowl for innocent blood.
“All sane people are concerned about the recent spate of violence and bloodshed across the country.

“As a result, women must cry out in prayer to God for His divine restoration,” the governor’s wife advised. She said.
She also led the women in special intercessory prayers for the country’s peace.
She stated that no matter what giants the nation faces, God can push them aside for peace and prosperity to reign in the land.
The summit’s guest minister was Pastor Glory Udoemma of the Restoration Ministries in Calabar.
She spoke briefly about the summit’s title, “Taking Over Territories,” in her brief exhortation.
She said that dominating territorial boundaries was not a gender issue because women of all backgrounds could influence territories for God.
She took her text from Joshua 35:4 and explained that God expects every believer to take over territories for Him.
She stated that Christians should adopt new attitudes characterized by boldness, compassion for the weak, and reverence for God.
Special prayers were offered for the Nation’s and state’s peace and security.
