The Biggie’s House residents have been there for 49 days with the goal of winning the N100 million grand prize. They sat at tables and got to know one another on the first day they entered the House. The Housemates, who were initially strangers, divulged extensive details about their identities and values. Up until today, no one has divulged private information about their lives, much less their early years.
The remaining 16 Housemates are in tears as they collectively tell tales about a time when they had to overcome doubt and fear to pursue their goals. Hermes described how he spent five days looking for his missing mother without the aid of the authorities. Despite his scepticism, he continued despite the hurdles.
Hermes was dealing with a parent who was absent, while other Housemates were grieving the loss of a loved one. Losing their fathers was the story that Bella and Doyin cited as having the most influence on their lives. Doyin never lacked anything because she was a daddy’s daughter. She had to start supporting her mother and her mother’s mother after her father passed away. She became a hard worker as a result of this event, although she still dislikes doing housework. In contrast, Bella said that her mother filled the void left by her father and that “no girl kid should grow up without a father.”
Adekunle used the example of his father’s life as a guide for how not to live his own life. He made the decision to lead a drug- and alcohol-free life as a result of his father’s drug use. His desire to live independently of employment to earn money—which would cause him to develop addictions like his father—was also impacted by his father’s existence. He finally got a job he didn’t like, and now that he’s on BBNaija, he’s chasing other ambitions he had had.
Like Doyin, Rachel had a privileged upbringing that eventually led to poverty. Life got difficult for her because she was unable to pay her school fees. She has gained strength and resilience, and one day she aspires to have more self-assurance.
Phyna and Chichi both experienced comparable childhoods as abandoned kids who had to fend for themselves. Chichi was once destitute and alone in her life. She was a dreamer who tried her hardest to create a different reality for herself since she felt out of place where she was. She has struggled all of her life and still does to get what she wants.
15-year-old Phyna began taking care of herself and working as a hawker and hair stylist. She managed to find odd jobs to support herself and pay the rent, but she was driven and determined, so she eventually earned an engineering degree.
Chomzy found it difficult to express her painful experience of being teased and ignored due to her sickness. Chichi revealed her experience of bullying as a child while sobbing. Adekunle tried to contain his tears as he recounted his life’s journey.
Sheggz was another Housemate who struggled to control his tears. People’s skepticism along the way to becoming a football player did not make it simple for him. Despite his reservations, he persisted and eventually began a football career after switching clubs.
The artists Bryann, Eloswag, and Groovy persevered despite the noise to fulfill their aspirations. Groovy and Eloswag were told they lacked the necessary skills after Bryann was dealt with. They made the decision to follow their hearts rather than the advice of others and pursue their aspirations of being famous.
Daniella and Dotun have been on a path of self-discovery, which has helped Daniella transition from being an athlete to being a spoken word artist. Dotun gave up on being an athlete and has since struggled to strike a balance and make a decision regarding his future. He persevered despite setbacks to get into Biggie’s House, and his tenacity brought him here.
For Allysyn to become a model, she underwent a long road. Because she was warned that her weight would prevent her from getting work as a commercial model, she went through awful diets to lose weight. She blocked out that clamor until she ultimately joined an agency and started working as a commercial model.
For the first time the housemates got to know themselves very well.
