Ga’ate Farm was established in 2017 as a cooperative society registered with Karu Local government council and has since been upgraded into a limited liability company with board of directors and shareholders with a defined management structure that meets the need of investors that partner with the communities in the Hadari District to include, Gaate, Marke, Mante, Sabon Gida all Kokona Local government area of Nasarawa state.
Speaking to Dynamic News Hub on achievements recorded so far, the National Coordinator, Nigeria Farmers Group and Cooperative Society who is also the Managing Director, Ga’ate Farm Mr. Tedheke Retson, said NFGCS, is an organization that engages in the production, processing, and distribution of Agro products with a vision of helping Nigeria to achieve food sufficiency.
when asked about the benefit of the farm to the host community, the managing director disclosed that as part of its measure to involve the community in carrying out their activities, NFGCS employed not less than five hundred indigenes who worked in various sections in the Farm with 70 percent of them are women, stressing that this has reduced the level of insecurity to the bearest minimum.
He, however, called on the Federal, state, and local governments to formulate policies that will promote Agricultural I’m rural communities for the benefit of all citizenry just as he encouraged the host communities to use the opportunity of Gaate Farms to improve their farming system.
While taking newsmen round the Facilities at the Farm, the Ga’ate Farm Manager, Ogbeide Peter stated that Ga’ate Farms has a vision and mission statement which include, to achieve food sufficiency in the country by engaging the citizens to fully participate in agricultural activities beginning from the local levels to other areas of the agricultural supply chain market as well as creating viable sustainable income for local rural farmers.
