The National Population Commission (NPC) says it has recruited 110 Adhoc staff to facilitate the smooth conduct of trial census in nine Local Government Areas of Bauchi State.
The Federal Commissioner in the state, Alhaji Mohammed Darazo, who stated this at a news conference on Wednesday in Bauchi, said they included enumerators, facilitators, and supervisors.
He said the trial census slated to be conducted between June 27 and July 30 encompasses building numbering and household listing from July 13 to July 18.
The Commissioner said that Validation of Enumeration Areas (VAEs) would run from July 19 to 21, adding that three local government areas were selected in each of the three senatorial districts for the exercise.
He listed the selected LGAs to include Zaki, Giade, Itas Gadau, Dambam, Ningi, Darazo, Tafawa Balewa, Kirfi, and Toro.
Darazo said the National Council of State had approved the nationwide trial census preparatory to the April 2023 Population and Housing Census.
According to him, the objective of the exercise is to test all aspects of census operation from planning, implementation, logistics, questionnaire design and format.
“Training procedures, fieldwork operations, publicity, payment system, data processing, data tabulation, and analysis,” he said.
