Tokyo 2020: Blessing Oborodudu: Blessing Oborodudu won her women’s freestyle 68kg wrestling semi-final match to qualify for the final, ensuring Nigeria’s first medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.
Oborududu defeated Mongolian Battsetseg Soronzonbold 7-2 to qualify for the women’s 68kg final, ensuring her GOLD or Silver.
If she wins it will be Nigeria’s first-ever Olympic wrestling medal.
Oborodudu, 32, jumped out to a 4-0 lead early on, then added more three-pointers to finish the bout 7-2 to win by points.
Marianna Stock Mensah of the United States is up next for Oborududu, who is also in great shape. Mensah is currently ranked first when it comes to Tokyo, with Oborududu ranked second.
