Heavy rain kills 36: As a result of heavy rain over the last few days, three landslides in the Raigad region of India’s western state of Maharashtra has killed as many as 36 people, the local administration said on Friday.
“The 36 people were killed in three landslides in Maharashtra’s Raigad region,” the administration said.
Meanwhile, heavy rains over the last few days have caused flooding in the region, affecting both road and rail traffic.

According to media reports, more than 30 people may be trapped beneath the rubble.
