Generator fumes kill four: Four family members were discovered dead after falling asleep with the generator on in Sanmora, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The Lagos-based family was in Kwara state for Sallah celebrations when the tragic incident occurred between Tuesday night, July 20, and Wednesday morning, July 21.
A man, his wife, another woman, and a child were among the victims from the Ojomu family compound.
On Wednesday, July 21, two more people were discovered unconscious in the house and were rushed to the hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the family dined late Tuesday night and left the generator running in their corridor before falling asleep. On Wednesday, a neighbour who came to greet them discovered their bodies and raised an alarm.
According to the Tribune, a source said, “We discovered their lifeless bodies early this morning; the head of the house, his two wives, and one of his children were all dead.”

“Two of the family members who were unconscious at the time of our break-in were taken to the hospital.” Despite the fact that they are both in critical condition, we hope they survive.”
Ajayi Okasanmi, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Kwara State Police Command, confirmed the incident.
Okasanmi stated that the incident involved four members of the same family and that two other members of the family were in the hospital recovering.
